Officer Duties

Chapter Officers shall perform the duties prescribed by the bylaws, parliamentary authority adopted by the Chapter, and responsibilities noted within the Chapter website.

President

  • Presides at all meetings of the Chapter and the Board.
  • Appoints all standing committee chairpersons and other committees as authorized by the Chapter Board.
  • Serves as an ex-officio member of all committees except the Nominating Committee.
  • Represents the Chapter at Leadership Conferences and Regional Presidents Council Meeting(s).
  • Maintains communications with the Association and respond to Association inquiries.
  • Responsible for submission of the chapter annual report to the Association within 30 days after the annual meeting.
  • Supervises budgetary matters and proper internal control of finances.
  • Performs other duties as they pertain to the office of President, or which may be delegated by the Chapter Board.

Executive Vice President

  • Perform the duties of the President in the event of his/her absence or disability.
  • Chairs the Communicationssletter committee.
  • Chairs the Facilities Committee.
  • Coordinates and delegate the duties of Webmaster for the Chapter.
  • Performs other duties as pertain to this office.

Education Vice President

  • Perform the duties of the President or Executive Vice President in the event of his/her absence or disability.
  • Chairs the Education Committee.
  • Coordinates the education functions for the Chapter.
  • Performs other duties as they pertain to this office.

Membership Vice President

  • Performs the duties of the President or Executive Vice President in the event of his/her absence or disability.
  • Chairs the Membership Committee.
  • Coordinates the membership functions for the Chapter.
  • Performs other duties as they pertain to this office.

Secretary

  • Takes minutes of the meetings of the Chapter Board.
  • Maintains accurate lists of the membership, and attendance records.
  • Responsible for the legal affairs, Chapter reports, and communications and correspondence pertaining to the Chapter.
  • Performs other duties as they pertain to this office.

Treasurer

  • Serves as the custodian of Chapter funds.
  • Collects all unpaid program fees.
  • Receives all monies and disburse funds only upon the sanction of the Chapter board or the Chapter membership.
  • Remits dues to the Association as required.
  • Submits monthly financial reports to the Chapter Board for approval.
  • Submits an annual and monthly written report to the Chapter Membership.
  • Prepares an annual budget for the Chapter.
  • Submits books and records for audit when required.
  • Files any and all tax forms required.
  • Performs other duties as they pertain to this office.

Immediate Past President

  • Serves in an advisory capacity.

Chapter Board

The Board consists of Academic Relations, CISA/CISM Coordinator, Education Committee, Newsletter Editor, Web Content Manager, Sponsorship, Social/Networking and consists of officers and directors (chairpersons) of all committees.

The Board:

  • Supervises the affairs and conduct the business of the Chapter.
  • Makes recommendations to the membership.
  • Is subject to the orders of the membership.
  • Meets at least as often and in the same months as the regular chapter meetings at a time and place determined by the Chapter Board. The Chapter President may call a Chapter Board meeting at any time deemed necessary.

Chapter Vacancies

If a vacancy should occur in any office, except that of immediate Past President, the vacancy shall be filled by the Chapter Board and disclosed to the membership through normal Chapter communications.

If a vacancy occurs in the office of immediate Past President, the vacancy shall remain until filled by routine succession.

If a Chapter officer's membership in the Association shall terminate for any reason that individual's position as a Chapter
