Data Resiliency, Recoverability, and Tackling New Regulations Head On
Recently published NIST Cybersecurity Framework updates and updates to various state and federal regulations have pushed organizations to review and mature their cybersecurity program to focus more Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery from a cyber disaster scenario. Cliff Magee, Cybersecurity and Cyber resiliency expert, will be discussing changes to accountability, policy requirements, backup requirements, exercising recovery from backups, isolated recovery environments, post-event alternate access, and immutable data vaults.
IN ADDITION, Cliff will be sharing a PART 2 to this event: ISACA Chapter Membership Path to Personal Fulfillment. Cliff will discuss how ISACA Illini Chapter involvement has encouraged him to earn additional certifications, teach classes for the ISACA Foundation, and develop presentations and present at multiple industry conferences. He shares his journey of one reluctant leader who has broken out of his shell to make a real impact.
About the presenter:
Cliff Magee is a Cybersecurity and Cyber resiliency expert with 30 years of work in large and small organizations in the areas of education, medical, and corporate America. He has a broad background in security, disaster recover, education, networking, storage, physical/virtual hardware, Microsoft Windows Server, and scripting.
In 2016, Cliff shifted from a technical career in Windows Server Administration to working in Disaster Recovery. He then went on to focus on Cyber resiliency. To support his career change, he completed a Master's in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance. In his current position, he teaches and mentors when he's not focused on his cyber resiliency role.
