Students can graduate prepared and still struggle to be understood by employers.
Higher education describes learning through courses and case studies. Employers hire based on role readiness and demonstrated capability, particularly in IT, cybersecurity, risk, governance, audit, and compliance roles.

When those definitions don’t align, capable graduates can be overlooked.
In this 30-minute session, we examine where that disconnect shows up in real hiring decisions, and what alignment looks like through the lived experience of an ISACA student member working in the field.

What You’ll Learn

  • Why capable graduates are sometimes overlooked in hiring
  • How the “translation gap” appears in IT and cybersecurity roles
  • What employers actually mean by role readiness
  • What employer-alignment looks like in higher ed
