Aminat Oteni

My name is Aminat Oteniara, and I recently completed my Master of Science in Cybersecurity Management as well as a Master of Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield. I hold certifications as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), CompTIA Security+, and Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO).


My professional journey spans about five years across law, IT audit, risk management, compliance, and project management. I have practiced as a lawyer and worked in legal and regulatory roles across both the public and private sectors, experiences that have strengthened my ability to bridge governance, technology, and business objectives.


I see serving on the ISACA Illini Board as a meaningful way to give back to the profession while continuing to learn from fellow members. I hope to contribute by leveraging my interdisciplinary background to support chapter initiatives, encourage inclusive engagement, and promote professional growth opportunities for all members.

For my hobbies I enjoy traveling and exploring new places, meeting new people, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.

Brandon Umland

I am currently a Compliance Quality Assurance Manager at Wells Fargo. I have been working at Wells Fargo since 2019. Prior to that I worked for State Farm holding various roles over 20 years. I currently hold the following certifications: I believe that my experience working for a top 5 global financial institution will bring a unique perspective on how a large organization worked through a transformation to resolve numerous regulatory issues while increasing efficiency and providing customer value.

    Daniel Sherrick Apambila

    I am Daniel Sherrick Apambila, an international graduate student at Illinois State University, pursuing Masters in Technology-Project Management. I am also a Social Media Advocate for ISACA (i.e., last year and this year).

    Eric Hrovat

    Currently a Senior Manager in Technology Risk Management-Security at Navy Federal Credit Union, I have been leading strategies over continuous control monitoring, asset-based control testing, policy exceptions, data movement authorization, and a team of senior strategy analysts since August 2021. My role involves transforming current processes and developing new control monitoring methods leveraging data analytics and artificial intelligence within an agile framework for delivery.

    Previously, I served as the Director of Internal Audit at State Farm for over five years, where I led a team of auditors and managed the co-sourcing relationship with our audit firm. My responsibilities included conducting banking, IT, and compliance audits, developing risk-based dynamic audit plans, and presenting to the Bank Audit Committee quarterly. With a career spanning over two decades, I have extensive experience in risk management, regulatory compliance, and data analytics.

    I also served in the US Navy for 11 years holding a Top Secret SCI clearance working in the field of Signals Intelligence and graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Telecommunications Management.  I have also served multiple terms on both the IIA and ISACA Board of Directors.

    Justin Kingston

    My name is Justin Kingston and I'm currently the CIO for Farnsworth Group Inc., a full-services AEC firm based in Bloomington, IL with offices around the US.  With over 25 years in the IT industry and more than a decade in leadership roles, I bring a depth of experience in aligning technology initiatives with business objectives to drive growth and resilience.

    I recently completed a BS in CyberSecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governor's University in 2024.  As part of that curriculum, I obtained numerous CompTIA certifications, including A+, Network+, Security+, CySA+, and Pentest+.  This was in addition to the LPI Linux Essentials and ITIL v4 Foundation certificates offered as part of the program.  Additionally, I've held a CISM certification since 2022.

    For the Illini chapter board, my hope is to bring a senior IT executive perspective, helping to ensure we're aligned with strategic challenges faced in the security space by businesses today.  I also focus strongly on career development with my team, and hope to be able to use that experience to help develop future security leaders.

    Mike Finnegan

    Hello, my name is Mike. I began my career with State Farm nearly 21 years ago after earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Illinois State University. I held various roles in finance and taxation before transitioning to governance in 2019. In my current role on an Information Security Governance team within State Farm, I, I work across all four core ISACA domains—audit, information security management, risk management, and governance—managing policy exceptions, controls, and evidence collection to ensure compliance and transparency. I hold ISACA’s IT Risk Fundamentals and Cybersecurity Fundamentals certificates and will pursue the CRISC certification this September.

    What sets me apart is my journey from a non-technical background into the intricate and dynamic world of information security. This perspective enables me to bridge gaps between technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering collaboration and inclusivity within our profession. I am dedicated to advancing our profession by representing the diverse needs of ISACA members and would be honored to contribute my experience, passion, and member-focused perspective to the board.

    Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife Andrea, daughters Scarlett and Emelia, and our labradors Stella and Hazey. When possible, I also enjoy attending live music events in Canada with friends.

    Natalie Ogden

    Natalie has been a member of the ISACA Illini Chapter for 10 years. She holds the Certified Risk and Information Systems Controls (CRISC) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certifications from ISACA, as well as the CompTIA Security+ certification.

    Currently, Natalie works in Enterprise Risk Management at State Farm, where she provides oversight and consulting for risk frameworks. Prior to this, she held various technology and information security risk management positions within State Farm and has experience across the risk life cycle. Natalie is interested in continuous learning and contributing to opportunities to improve member engagement in the Illini Chapter.

My professional journey has spanned diverse industries, where I have contributed to the execution of risk-based audits, development of audit frameworks, and enhancement of IT control environments.

    I hold the CISA certification and am actively pursuing the CRISC certification, underscoring my commitment to continuous learning and advancing excellence in risk and information systems control.
