Description:

The Chapter Compliance Advisory Group will support ISACA in reviewing and assessing chapter non-compliance with the CAA (Chapter Affiliation Agreement). Volunteers will assist in verification and documentation of non-compliance, identifying remediation steps, and communicating with affected chapters and ISACA Global. 

 

Anticipated outcomes:  

Advisory Group members will assist ISACA with strengthened governance practices and ensure alignment with the Chapter Affiliation Agreement by:

  • Reviewing cases of reported chapter non-compliance with the CAA.
  • Conducting structured outreach to clarify issues and gather relevant facts.
  • Documenting observations and providing recommendations to ISACA staff.
  • Identifying patterns or recurring challenges and proposing long-term solutions to ultimately assist chapters.
  • Attending bimonthly meetings, with ad hoc meetings scheduled as needed. 

Core deliverables will include:

  • Compliance review summaries
  • Outreach documentation
  • Monthly updates to ISACA staff
  • Final recommendations per case 

 

Note: Volunteers on this Advisory Group operate in an advisory capacity only. They will not be required to enforce compliance but will advise staff to help guide (staff) decision-making. 

Spots are limited and not all applicants can be selected. Applications may close early based on volume. 

Volunteer Criteria:

  • 2026 ISACA membership required
  • Former or current chapter leadership experience required
  • If you are a current chapter leader, your chapter must be in full compliance with ISACA Global throughout your service 
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn ISACA’s Chapter Affiliation Agreement
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Volunteers may recuse themselves from specific cases where appropriate.
  • Chapter governance experience preferred
  • Geographic representation will be considered 

Volunteer Benefits: 

  • Up to 10 CPE credits (max. 20 annually) in the area of Working on ISACA Boards/Committees/Working Groups upon successful completion of the term. This activity does not align to an Exam Content Outline (ECO).
  • Contribute to the reputation of ISACA and betterment of members by ensuring ISACA chapters deliver on key requirements.
  • Assist with identifying common pain points for chapters that can ultimately lead to improved governance requirements between chapters and ISACA Global.
