ISACA is seeking volunteers to give pre-launch feedback on a new ISACA online course: Ethical Perspectives In AI: Implications, Principles, And Social Dynamics  

Description of Course:
While AI could have myriad benefits across a variety of industries, there are many ethical considerations that need to be made before implementing an AI-powered resource. There are concerns about AI perpetuating bias or being used in harmful ways. This course explores the ethical consequences associated with AI use, the ethical principles that should be considered in the development and adoption of AI, and the impacts AI could have on society. It also contains real-world examples of ethical issues arising from the use of AI.

  • Understand the ethical issues raised by AI technologies
  • Apply ethical principles to real-world AI scenarios
  • Analyze the social and political implications of AI applications

Why This Course Matters:

In today's rapidly advancing technological landscape, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to revolutionize numerous industries and aspects of our lives. However, as AI's impact grows, so do concerns about its ethical implications. This course addresses the critical need for a nuanced understanding of AI's ethical consequences, from perpetuating bias to harmful applications.

In a world where AI is increasingly shaping our lives, this course provides a vital framework for navigating the ethical complexities and ensuring that AI is harnessed for the betterment of society.

Anticipated Outcomes:

  • Selected volunteers will receive the ISACA course for free, and in exchange, must agree to complete the 2-hour online, self-paced course between 8 July and 15 July 2024.
  • After course completion, volunteers must complete two online post-course feedback surveys.
  • Volunteers must agree to confidentiality and may not share the course or any contents with others; it is a pre-public launch course in beta testing.
  • Space is limited. Not all applications will be approved based on needed volunteer composition. 

Volunteer Criteria:

  • ISACA membership required.
  • ISACA certification not required.
  • Prior to volunteering for this opportunity, ISACA recommends that participants have a strong understanding of the branches (or subfields) of AI and AI terminology.

Volunteer Benefits:

  • Up to 3 CPE credits total
    • Selected volunteers will receive 2 CPE for completing the beta course
    • Volunteers will earn an additional 1 CPE credit (max. 20 annually) in Contributions to the Profession after successfully completing the required POST COURSE surveys.
  • Course will be offered free to volunteers selected for participation
  • Contribute to the creation/advancement of best-in-class ISACA training resources related to AI.
