Description:

ISACA is seeking volunteers to give pre-launch feedback on a new ISACA online course: Machine Learning for Business Enablement.

Description of Course:

Machine learning is a longstanding subset of artificial intelligence that enables computers to learn from data. Machine learning excels at identifying patterns, detecting anomalies, and automating routine, time-consuming tasks, making it an increasingly important business enabler in any industry. Recent advances in AI necessitate that digital trust professionals, of any discipline, possess not only a theoretical understanding of machine learning but also attain minimal hands-on vendor agnostic experience.

The material in this course is essential to effectively evaluate ML solutions, better assess risk, and aid responsible adoption. The end result is a well-informed professional poised to better support enterprise adoption and use regardless of setting.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify business tasks suitable for machine learning
  • Describe the main types of machine learning algorithms
  • Select ideal machine learning algorithm given a scenario
  • Identify the challenges and advantages of machine learning

Why This Course Matters:

In today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, machine learning has become a critical component of business success. As AI continues to transform industries and revolutionize the way we work, it's essential for digital trust professionals to possess a solid foundation of machine learning concepts. This course empowers professionals to:

  • Identify opportunities for machine learning applications in their organization
  • Evaluate and select the right machine learning algorithms for their business needs
  • Assess the risks and challenges associated with machine learning adoption
  • Support responsible AI adoption and drive enterprise success

Anticipated Outcomes:

  • Selected volunteers will receive the ISACA course for free, and in exchange, must agree to complete the 5-hour online, self-paced course between 27 June and 8 July 2024.
  • After course completion, volunteers must complete two online post-course feedback surveys.
  • Volunteers must agree to confidentiality and may not share the course or any contents with others; it is a pre-public launch course in beta testing.
  • Space is limited. Not all applications will be approved based on needed volunteer composition.

Volunteer Criteria:

  • ISACA membership required.
  • ISACA certification not required.
  • Prior to volunteering for this opportunity, ISACA recommends that participants have a strong understanding of the branches (or subfields) of AI and AI terminology.

Volunteer Benefits:

  • Up to 6 CPE credits:
    • Selected volunteers will receive 5 CPE for completing the beta course
    • Volunteers will earn an additional 1 CPE credit (max. 20 annually) in the area of Contributions to the Profession after successfully completing the two required POST COURSE surveys.
  • Course will be offered free to volunteers selected for participation
  • Contribute to the creation/advancement of best-in-class ISACA training resources related to AI.
