Description:

The AAIA Certification Working Group is designated to support ISACA’s AAIA certification program.  Members of the working group are responsible for ensuring the integrity and quality of the certification program and the exam content. 

Anticipated outcomes:

  • Support the exam development process, including:  
    • Approve exam passing point/rate resulting from Standard Setting Analysis.  
    • Review and approve exam drafts.
    • Review exam item performance via statistical analysis.  
  • Approve requirements for certification.  
  • Approve recertification methods and requirements.  
  • Review and approve the empirically derived results of the updated job practice.  
  • Review certification appeals and exam administration issues to determine appropriate action.  
  • All work is conducted confidentially and may not be shared or discussed outside the working group members and ISACA staff. 

Volunteer Criteria: 

  • ISACA membership required.
  • MUST have experience in auditing AI or using AI to conduct audits in order to apply. 
  • Members must already hold the certification (AAIA) for the working group they serve on.  
  • Diverse member representation required to include geographical areas, industry, and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in two or more core domain areas required.
  • Fluency in English required for productive group discussion.  

Time Commitment: 

Volunteers should expect to spend approximately 2 hours per month on average, with time commitment increasing in the month(s) preceding a meeting date for pre-review of exam drafts. AAIA Certification Working Group meetings are typically scheduled at 2-day intervals, 8:00-4:30 pm US Central Time, twice per year. Attendance is required.

  • In-person and/or virtual meeting(s): Attendance is required at one AAIA Certification Working Group meeting per term.
  • The next meeting is planned to be conducted virtually 13-14 November 2025 and 3 December 2025, and in-person on 8-9 January 2026, from 8:00 am-4:30 pm US Central Time in the Chicago, IL area. Travel expenses are paid by ISACA.
  • Ad hoc sessions to review items flagged for poor testing performance may be scheduled as needed. These sessions will be conducted virtually.  
  • If you foresee difficulties participating due to time zone differences or travel restraints, kindly refrain from applying.
  • The number of meetings and location could change based on business requirements. 

Volunteer Benefits:   

  • Up to 20 CPE credits (max. 20 annually) in the area of Working on ISACA Boards/Committees/Working Groups upon successful completion of the term.
    • Working Group members will also receive CPEs based on the time spent during the face-to-face meeting on formal review of exam drafts and flagged items. Evidence of actual hours earned for the formal review process will be provided to Working Group members. 

AAIA Working Group members may not teach a AAIA review course or develop AAIA review materials for a period of 3 years following the last date of service on the Working Group.
