Description:

The Chapter Liaisons Working Group (CLWG) was formed in 2018 to serve as liaisons between ISACA Headquarters (HQ) and chapter leaders. The group was among the first to be made aware of new policies, procedures, new features, etc. so they could assist the chapter relations team in responding to chapter inquiries related to items such as the Chapter Affiliation Agreement, the Accredited Training Program, the new chapter leader portal, and more. They relayed concerns or issues to ISACA HQ and were leaders in and champions of change management.

Anticipated outcomes:

        Each member will:

  • For items pertaining specifically to chapters: Continue to be onboarded with new ISACA programs and processes as items are developed and be confident in serving as the primary point of contact in peer-to-peer exchanges, as needed.
  • Assist in the development, creation, and delivery of podcasts/webcasts to assist chapter leaders in their specific roles.
  • Advise on potential challenges as new initiatives are explored and/or launched.
  • Help communicate change and build enthusiasm among the chapter leaders for new programs and strategies that will enhance the organization.
  • Attend regional leadership meetings in 2019 to help answer questions and serve as a liaison between the chapter leaders and ISACA HQ.
  • Collect feedback and document best practices that align with Chapter Services Working Group (CSWG) initiatives (to be launched in 2019) and GLS 2018 outcomes. Assist as needed in the compilation and disseminated of items to chapters.

Volunteer Criteria:

  • Be a current ISACA member
  • Have served a minimum of one year as a chapter leader, either current or past
  • Be willing to attend regional chapter leadership meetings as noted below. (ISACA to cover related travel expenses.)
  • Have general knowledge of ISACA frameworks, products, certifications and services
  • Geographic representation required
  • Representation from small, medium, large, and very large chapters will be considered

Volunteer benefits:

  • Up to 20 CPE credits (max. 20 annually) in the area of Working on ISACA Boards/Committees/Working Groups (i.e., active participation on an ISACA working group with a charge other than research development, certification review manual development, Knowledge Center contribution, or peer review.)
  • Each member of the working group will have the opportunity to attend at least one, regional chapter leadership meeting. Attendance may be based on location, meeting needs, and availability.
  • If deemed necessary, attend an in-person meeting (time and location TBD) to align all initiatives for the year.
