Description:

The Academic and Workforce Development Advisory Group (AWDAG) will partner with ISACA Global to identify partnership models with academic and workforce development organizations serving Secondary, Higher Education, Government and Public audiences.  The AWDAG will provide advice on continuously innovating/establishing new models of learning that address the needs of today’s workforce and their future employers. New partnership models will be discussed, and models will be prioritized in alignment with ISACA Global strategy. The group will also constructively review models to ensure their efficacy versus ISACA’s global strategy.

Anticipated Outcomes

The AWDAG will support the development and delivery of deliverables designed to serve the needs of ISACA’s constituents and for those who look to join the community. Activities may include:

  • Identifying and prioritizing the needs of information and technology professionals engaged in providing enterprise services related to components of enterprise information, IT systems, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Analyzing the existing market need for credentials and certification in academic and workforce development organization and identifying ISACA’s position in the market.
  • Identifying and prioritizing the partnership models that can be uniquely filled by ISACA frameworks, knowledge products, education, and services.
  • Identifying areas where ISACA can benefit from collaborative development activities, partnerships or other relationships and recommend third parties for consideration.
  • Reviewing models created by ISACA to ensure their efficacy in the academic and workforce development market.
  • Work will be done primarily by virtual meeting and email, with participants expected to participate in one monthly virtual meeting, held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 10 am- 11am US Eastern Time.

Volunteer Criteria

  • Current faculty or leadership in Secondary, Higher Education, and/or Workforce Development with experience in information technology, technology management, cybersecurity, business, and/or finance. Expertise and industry representation are preferred over geographic diversity.
  • Current information technology practitioner or technology management role. Expertise and industry representation are preferred over geographic diversity.
  • Understanding the technology market including certifications and sources of knowledge currently available for professionals.
  • Knowledge of ISACA services.
  • ISACA membership preferred but not required.
  • Students are welcome and encouraged to apply even if they do not meet the above criteria but are passionate about technology and emerging technologies.
  • Must be available to meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 10am-11pm US Eastern Time

Volunteer Benefits

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of work and resources that advance ISACA’s position in the academic and workforce development space. 

  • Enable academic and workforce partners with resources and activities connecting them to the digital trust industry through ISACA. 

  • Up to 20 CPE credits (max. 20 annually) in the area of Working on ISACA Boards/Committees/Working Groups upon successful completion of the term.
