Description:

The Workforce Advancement Advisory Group serves in a non-governing position as key thought leaders to help shape strategy and programming to empower the next generation of digital trust talent by expanding access to careers in technology. 

Anticipated Outcomes

The Workforce Advancement Advisory Group supports the strategy and development of ISACA, its Foundation and its chapters’ cross-organizational workforce development initiatives and guides the coordination of these efforts to create a holistic and strategically aligned experience. 

  • Support and advise on a coordinated strategic plan, development, and facilitation of various initiatives including:
    • Scholarships
    • Academic partnerships
    • ISACA Student Groups
    • Student member engagement
    • Student Summit
    • Career Center
    • Career Pathways
    • Mentorship
    • New program incubation (e.g. internships, apprenticeships, competitions, etc.)
  • Lead ad hoc working groups or projects as assigned
  • Actively participate in the Professional Development Forum online discussions in Engage
  • Review evaluation results from various programs and use lessons learned to inform next steps, fill market gaps, etc.
  • Identify partners to support skill/talent development, job/internship placement, and/or funding.
  • Provide individual unique insights and anecdotal experiences.
  • Research and share quantitative research to identify gaps and propose solutions to solve market and customer needs.
  • Commit to advancing access to careers in technology for all populations. 

Volunteer Criteria:

  • ISACA Membership of all membership types preferred
  • Diversity of experience from recent graduates, career changers, and seasoned professionals
  • Broad geographic representation
  • Balanced representation of gender
  • Commitment to breaking through barriers and supporting access for anyone who wants to advance in a tech career
  • Knowledge of ISACA frameworks, products, credentials, and services.
  • Commitment to participate in bimonthly teleconferences and email communications to move projects forward as needed.
  • Network of prospective partners preferred

Volunteer Benefits:

  • Up to 20 CPE credits (max. 20 annually) in the area of Working on ISACA Boards/Committees/Working Groups upon successful completion of the term. This activity does not align to an Exam Content Outline (ECO).
  • Influence opportunities to build a strong future workforce in tech.
