ISACA is seeking volunteers to give pre-launch feedback on a new ISACA online course: Machine Learning: Neural Networks, Deep Learning, Large Language Models
Description of Course:
This course serves as a natural progression from the course “Machine Learning and Business Enablement” and examines the advanced layers of AI models, equipping students with the knowledge to understand and evaluate how deep learning systems work for image analysis, language processing, and other sophisticated domains, with additional coverage of deep learning is a component of Generative AI.
To provide learners with practical experience we have included four hands-on labs. In the labs, learners will work with dedicated Jupyter Notebooks to build and train four neural networks designed to address real-world business cases: regression, classification, image analysis and textual analysis.
Labs included in this course:
- Neural networks for regression tasks
- Neural networks for classification tasks
- Convolutional neural networks for image analysis
- Recurrent neural networks for textual analysis
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Describe the behavior of advanced AI architectures
- Assess their limitations and ideal applications
- Advocate for their implementation, adjustment, or dismissal in given use cases
- Discuss their capabilities and the risks they pose from a conscious and well-informed perspective
Why this Course Matters:
In today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, understanding the intricacies of advanced AI models is crucial for harnessing their potential and mitigating their risks. This course matters because it empowers learners to:
- Demystify complex AI architectures: Gain a deep understanding of advanced AI models, including deep learning systems, and their applications in image analysis, language processing, and more.
- Make informed decisions: Assess the limitations and ideal applications of advanced AI models, enabling informed advocacy for their implementation, adjustment, or dismissal in various use cases.
- Navigate the ethics of AI: Develop a conscious and well-informed perspective on the capabilities and risks associated with advanced AI models, ensuring responsible innovation and deployment.
By understanding these skills, learners will be equipped to drive innovation, optimize AI solutions, and address the challenges posed by advanced AI.
Suggested Pre-Requisite Knowledge: Prior to enrolling in this course, ISACA advises that participants possess a strong understanding of the branches (or subfields) of AI and AI terminology. We strongly encourage completing the ISACA AI Essentials and Machine Learning for Business Enablement course before taking Machine Learning: Neural networks, Deep Learning, Large Language Models. https://www.isaca.org/resources/artificial-intelligence?#2
You should be comfortable doing the following:
- Identify business tasks suitable for machine learning
- Describe the main types of machine learning algorithms
- Select ideal machine learning algorithm given a scenario
- Identify the challenges and advantages of machine learning
Anticipated Outcomes:
- Selected volunteers will receive the ISACA course for free, and in exchange, must agree to complete the 5-hour online, self-paced course and the labs (30 minutes each) between 18 September and 30 September 2024.
- After course completion, volunteers must complete the online post-course feedback survey.
- Volunteers must agree to confidentiality and may not share the course or any contents with others; it is a pre-public launch course in beta testing.
Volunteer Criteria:
- We are actively recruiting those who completed the Machine Learning for Business Enablement Beta Course for this opportunity as completion of THAT course is a suggested pre-requisite for THIS course. Please see suggested pre-requisite knowledge above.
- Other applications will be considered.
- ISACA membership required.
- ISACA certification not required.
- Space is limited. Not all applications will be approved based on needed volunteer composition.
Volunteer Benefits:
- Selected volunteers will receive 5 CPE for completing the beta course and labs (note that this will be issued upon course completion; CPE will not be issued through the volunteer program.)
- Course will be offered free to volunteers selected for participation
- Contribute to the creation/advancement of best-in-class ISACA training resources related to AI.
All volunteers must have an ISACA Participation Agreement on file. To see if your agreement is active, visit your volunteer profile. Access all volunteer policies here.
