Description:

The 2026 ISACA Student Summit will feature an “IT Bowl” competition for registered student attendees. Notetakers are needed to observe the event and capture detailed notes during the preparation and presentation periods. We will need notetakers to help identify key themes and takeaways from team presentations.

Anticipated Outcomes:

Student attendees participating in the IT Bowl will work in teams of three to problem solve real life business cases. At the end of the activity, teams will present their solutions to judges and other attendees. Notetakers will support the IT Bowl competition by:

  • Attend a (one-hour max) training session to prepare for duties during the competition
  • Float between team breakout rooms to observe teams during the presentation preparation; capture detailed notes and observations
  • Help answer any questions team members may have about the event (rules, timeframe, etc.); provide general guidance as needed
  • Attend competition read out and take detailed notes and observations based on depth, creativity, and quality of the solution.
  • Judges will work collaboratively to review takeaways from each team and determine an IT Bowl winner; notes and observations captured by notetakers will be a critical component to the conversation. Ability to listen critically and take detailed notes is required of notetakers.

Volunteer Criteria:

  • ISACA membership required
  • Ability to capture detailed and thorough notes documenting team preparation and readouts
  • Fair minded and unbiased approach to documenting team outcomes
  • Previous involvement with ISACA (volunteer, chapter leader, other active participant) preferred
  • Experienced practitioner; ability to understand real life problems and feasibility of solutions presented by the teams
  • Experience working with students preferred (mentor, educator, leader, etc.)
  • Geographic area representation considered
  • Must be a registered attendee of the 2026 Student Summit, and commit to attending both the pre-orientation and Student Summit live event

Volunteer Benefits:

  • Up to 3 CPE credits (max. 20 annually) in the area of Working on ISACA Boards/Committees/Working Groups upon successful completion of the term. This activity does not align to an Exam Content Outline (ECO).
  • Contribute to the learning and development of future professionals.
  • Complimentary registration to the ISACA 2026 Student Summit and ISACA 2026 Virtual Conference (Global pass)
