Description:

ISACA is creating a new certificate program - IT Audit Fundamentals Certificate - which requires a new study guide to help candidate prepare. Volunteer reviewers are needed to provide feedback on the study guide content prior to publishing. Successful candidates for this volunteer experience will be knowledgeable of the IT audit process (planning, fieldwork, reporting). The ability to apply this knowledge from the perspective of those who are either new to audit or new to IT audit (i.e., those transitioning careers) is preferred.

Preference is also given for familiarity with ITAF; ISAE 3402; CAAT; Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence; SOC Reports; ITGCs (logical access, change management, patch, application controls, SDLC, physical access, BC/DR).

Also, background in auditing subjects such as network infrastructure, OS, web applications, databases, data privacy, and mobile devices is helpful for this project. Proficiency in emerging/newer technologies such as AI, blockchain, IoT and cybersecurity (as related to audit) is also a plus.

Anticipated outcomes:

Volunteer reviewers will be asked to:

  • Review the study guide’s content for technical accuracy.
  • Use career experience to ensure that the study guide accurately reflects current audit practices and standards.
  • Use knowledge of audit subjects (e.g., network infrastructure, OS, web applications et al) to ensure that the study guide’s content is both current and relevant to auditors.

Volunteer Criteria:

  • CISA certification required
  • Have specific experience auditing IT controls and assessing compliance programs.
  • Currently hold an audit or assurance position as an experienced senior auditor, a manager, or a director.
  • Possess knowledge of ISACA frameworks, products, certifications and services.
  • ISACA Membership not required.
  • Geographic area representation of volunteers desired in the volunteer pool.
