2022-2023 CMMI Professional Certification Working Group

ISACA’s CMMI Professional Certification Working Group is designated to support the Professional Certification program. Members of the Working Group are responsible for ensuring the integrity and quality of the Certification and the Professional exam content.

Anticipated Outcomes:

• Support the exam development process, including:
  • Write CMMI Professional exam items (multiple-choice questions).
  • Review and approve exam items to be included in future exams.
• All work is conducted confidentially and may not be shared or discussed outside the Working Group members and ISACA staff.

Volunteer Criteria:

• Members must already hold the CMMI Professional Certification or higher.
• Diverse member representation preferred to include geographical areas, industry, and experience.
• Knowledge and experience in two or more core domain areas required.
• Fluency in English required for productive group discussion.
• Members must attend item writing training.

Work to be Completed via:  

• Email   
• Phone   
• Remote (Virtual) Meetings: To accommodate volunteer schedules and various time zones, several meeting sessions (at various lengths of duration) may be needed to ensure completion of item review. We anticipate item review sessions to take place in 4-hour and/or 8-hour increments:

• Early December 2022 (various dates/times, tentative 1-3 December 2022)
• Mid-January 2023 (various dates/times, tentative 12-14 January 2023)
• Members will be surveyed on availability and scheduled for dates/times available.

• The number of meetings could change based on business requirements. 

Estimated Time Commitment:

Time commitment will vary in the months associated with item writing and item review. To accommodate volunteer schedules and various time zones, several meeting sessions (at various lengths of duration) may be needed to ensure completion of item review.

Volunteer Benefits:

• 10 CPEs for 6-month term (max. 20 annually) in the area of Working on ISACA Boards/Committees/Working Groups upon successful completion of the required tasks at the end of the term.
  • Working Group members will also receive CPEs based on the time spent reviewing exam items during meetings. Evidence of actual hours earned for the formal review process will be provided to Working Group members.
