Description:

ISACA’s IT Assurance Framework (ITAF™) is a professional practices framework for IT audit and assurance professionals to seek guidance on the performance of audits and the development of effective audit reports. This task force will be responsible for reviewing a new version of the ITAF and providing feedback on the relevance and accuracy of its content. The task force will be asked specifically to ensure that ITAF’s standards and guidelines remain aligned with the current practice of IT audit.

Anticipated outcomes:

The ITAF Exposure Review Task Force is responsible for:

  • evaluating suggested changes to ITAF that have been proposed by a group of volunteers during an earlier phase of the project and recommending which updates should be incorporated and which updates should be disregarded.
  • recommending to ISACA, based on the teams’ comprehensive knowledge of IT audit and ITAF and their current roles as IT audit practitioners, any new content that should be added to ITAF and any content should be removed.
  • providing an overall opinion on the effectiveness of ITAF as a framework for the professional practice of IT auditing.

Volunteer Criteria:

  • CISA required
  • Extensive subject matter expertise in IT auditing
  • Experience using ITAF or familiarity with ITAF
  • Geographic and industry diversity

Volunteer benefits:

  • Up to 20 CPE credits (max. 20 annually) in the area of Working on ISACA Boards/Committees/Working Groups to be claimed upon successful completion of the term.

Time commitment:

  • Term: May 2020 (approximately 3 weeks for the review)
  • All work done via email or Microsoft Teams teleconferencing (if needed).
