Description:

The Information Security Advisory Group will partner with ISACA Global to identify industry trends and support activities required to appropriately create the necessary information and cyber security content to develop products in support of ISACA’s constituents. New product ideas will be discussed, and products will be prioritized to align with ISACA global strategy.

Anticipated Outcomes:

The Information Security Advisory Group will support the development and release of deliverables designed to serve the needs of ISACA’s constituents who are in the information security profession and for those who look to join the profession. Activities may include:

  • Identifying and prioritizing the needs of information security professionals engaged in providing security over some components of IT systems, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Analyzing the existing market need for information security products and services and identifying ISACA’s position in the market.
  • Identifying and prioritizing the gaps that can be uniquely filled by ISACA frameworks, knowledge products, education, and services.
  • Identifying areas where ISACA can benefit from collaborative development activities, partnerships or other relationships and recommend third parties for consideration.

 

Volunteer Criteria:

  • Current information security position. Information security expertise and industry representation are preferred over geographic diversity.
  • Understanding the information security market including current vendor solutions, industry certifications and sources of knowledge currently available for InfoSec professionals.
  • Security Operations experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of best practices in the industry.
  • Knowledge of ISACA frameworks, products, certifications and services.
  • CISM and CCISO certifications highly desirable.
  • CSX-P, CASP, CISSP or GSE certifications preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the Business Model for Information Security (BMIS) is desirable.
  • Geographic area representation highly desirable.
  • ISACA membership preferred but not required.


Volunteer Benefits:

  • Up to 20 CPE credits (max. 20 annually) in the area of Working on ISACA Boards/Committees/Working Groups upon successful completion of the term.
