  • ISACA Luxembourg Update - September 2024

A Message from Phil Frimpong, ISACA Luxembourg Chapter President

    Dear ISACA Luxembourg Chapter Members,

I hope that you had an excellent summer and were able to re-charge with friends and family.

I didn’t do as many Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits as I was planning on doing this summer.  As, however, September is associated with ‘back to school’, I am planning on doing a few trainings this month.  As a reminder maintaining your CISA® requires earning a minimum of 20 CPEs annually and a total of 120 CPEs over a 3-year period.  Please note that ISACA offers free CPEs (and ones that require additional payment).  This can be done through learnings, webinars, and volunteering for your Luxembourg chapter or the ISACA foundation.  https://www.isaca.org/credentialing/cisa/maintain-cisa-certification  It is important that all evidence of hours noted / proof of completion is kept. When audited, these will need to be produced.

As you will remember, June was ISACA Luxembourg’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).  This was a busy month for ISACA Luxembourg’s board member, Valérie Campanile.  She coordinates and prepares the annual AGM in her role as secretary.  Also, very importantly, she ensures that the association complies with Luxembourg laws and regulations from an administrative perspective, keeping the association’s status up to date.  Her other role within ISACA Luxembourg, relates to education and mentoring.  She’s a teacher at a French university, and through this network and experience she is attracting students to our Luxembourg chapter and promoting ISACA at student events.  Additionally, Valérie is an IT Audit Director, working in financial institutions for nearly 20 years as well as being a mum of 2 daughters (13 and 7 years old).  As I am running out of space, next time that you see Valérie at one of our events, please ask her about her international family, her personal development and the value that she places on training (she doesn’t need any more CPEs!), the last good book that she has read, and making pastries.

Another reminder is that our next event is on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 5.45PM.  It is a fireside chat (moderated questions and answers) with another impressive woman in technology in LuxembourgValérie Guillemet from the EIB.  She is the Head of the Digital Transformation office. She has a wealth of experience in digital transformation, project management, and IT governance.  She has led multiple digital and technological transformation projects, leveraging technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain in both the private and public sectors.  Valérie was recommended by Kaisu Christie, who is unfortunately now travelling for work on this date.  If you have not already done so, please sign up here:  https://eur.cvent.me/9k3QG

Looking forward to your continued participation.  See you soon.

    Phil
