Description:

This group of volunteers will participate in the review of an audit program on auditing databases. The group’s deliverable will consist of feedback on the technical accuracy of the audit program’s content as well as assessment of whether the audit program’s controls and test steps are aligned with current best practices.

Anticipated outcomes:

The volunteers will support the delivery of a database audit program by reviewing a draft audit program for:

  • Technical accuracy; and
  • Alignment with current best practices

It is expected that the draft document will be available for review by April 21, 2022. Volunteer reviewers will have approximately one week to complete the review. The timeline may be modified, however, depending on ISACA’s production schedule.

Volunteer Criteria (required):

  • Current knowledge of databases
  • Practical experience planning and conducting database audits
  • Proficiency with at least one of the following databases and familiarity with the remaining databases is required: SQL, MySQL, Oracle
  • Proficiency should include knowledge/understanding of database:
    • access
    • configuration
    • encryption
    • logging
    • DR, backup, versioning
  • CISA certification
  • ISACA membership is not required

Volunteer Criteria (preferred):

  • Experience conducting database audits or administering databases.
  • Geographic area representation preferred.
Volunteer benefits:
  • Up to 4 CPE credits (max. 20 annually) in the area of Contributions to the Profession upon successful completion of the term (i.e., research development, certification review manual development, Knowledge Center contributor, performing peer reviews.)
