Description:

It has long been ISACA’s policy that chapters cannot form with a country-wide territory unless the entire country spans less than/equal to a 50-mile/80-kilometer radius. Prior to this policy being established, some chapters were chartered with country-wide territories and remain as such today.

The Chapter Territory Task Force will discuss and determine what works, what does not, etc. when it comes to country-wide territories and how that relates to how chapters are named and, as a result, members are supported. The task force will prepare a written recommended approach/way forward to ISACA’s Board of Directors, which is subject to approval by the Board.

Anticipated outcomes:

  • Determine a recommended approach for chapter territories and naming conventions.
  • Review and suggest different models that could work, noting models could vary by region.
  • Determine if any “grandfathering” will be permitted for chapters already in existence.
  • Write an official recommendation for review by the ISACA Board of Directors, citing the recommended approach going forward.
