Description:

This group of volunteers will participate in the review of a white paper about China’s Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL). Topics covered in the white paper include the specifics of the law, mapping the PIPL with privacy frameworks, information processing principals, operational guidelines and cross-border data transfers.

Anticipated outcomes:

The volunteers will support the delivery of a white paper on the topic of China’s PIPL

It is expected that the draft document will be available for review by late February 2022. Volunteer reviewers will have a couple weeks to complete their reviews and to provide feedback to the ISACA Privacy Professional Practices Principal. The timeline may adjust depending on production schedule.

Volunteer Criteria:

  • Current knowledge of and experience in privacy.
  • Familiarity with China’s PIPL
  • Knowledge of privacy frameworks and other privacy regulations, e.g., NIST Privacy Framework, GDPR
  • Knowledge of cross-border data transfer requirements
  • Geographic area considered for diversity.
  • ISACA membership not required.

Volunteer benefits:

  • Up to 3 CPE credits (max. 20 annually) in the area of Contributions to the Profession upon successful completion of the review.
