Description:

This group of volunteers will participate in the review of the draft CMMI® MDD V3.0. The Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Appraisal Method Definition Document (MDD) provides a defined set of methods for conducting appraisals relative to the CMMI model and ecosystem. The MDD defines the requirements, boundaries of tailoring, and implementation guidance for the application of the appraisal method for the following appraisal types:

  • CMMI Benchmark Appraisals
  • CMMI Sustainment Appraisals
  • CMMI Action Plan Reappraisals (APRs)
  • CMMI Evaluation Appraisals


Anticipated Outcomes:

The volunteers will review the draft MDD. It is expected that the volunteer reviewers will complete a comment disposition matrix to record any feedback. 

It is expected that the draft document will be available for review mid-October. Volunteer reviewers will have two weeks to complete their review and to provide feedback to ISACA. The timeline may adjust depending on resource availability and release schedule.


Volunteer Criteria:

  • Must be a Certified CMMI Lead Appraiser. Preference given to individuals who have led:
    • Multiple types of appraisals, e.g., Benchmark, Sustainment, Evaluation, Action Plan Reappraisals
    • Benchmark Appraisals across multiple domains, e.g., Development, Services, Suppliers, Security, Safety
  • Must be in good standing – no quality or financial issues.
  • Geographic area considered for diversity.
  • ISACA membership not required.

Volunteer Benefits:

  • Up to 8 CPE credits (max. 20 annually) in the area of Contributions to the Profession upon successful completion of the term.
  • CMMI Opportunities: CPEs for CMMI certifications are tracked internally through the process detailed in the CMMI Certification – Partner Sponsored Renewal Policy. CMMI certified individuals may earn up to 8 CPEs (max. 50 during your current certification period) toward Category II - Continuing Education & Community Support per Appendix B of the Renewal Policy. Please maintain a log of the CPEs earned for your own records.
