2025 Privacy Advisory Group

The Privacy Advisory Group will partner with ISACA Global to identify industry trends, emerging privacy laws and regulations, and support activities required to appropriately create the necessary information and privacy content to develop products in support of ISACA’s core constituents. New product ideas will be discussed, and products will be prioritized to align with ISACA global strategy.

Anticipated Outcomes:

With the increasing scrutiny of and compliance concerns associated with data protection, the Privacy Advisory Group will support ISACA by providing advice around the development and release of deliverables designed to serve the needs of ISACA’s constituents who are responsible for enterprise privacy initiatives, including architecting systems, managing privacy programs, and adhering to compliance requirements. Activities may include:

• Identifying and prioritizing the needs of technical privacy professionals.
• Reviewing draft publications for accuracy and alignment with needs of privacy professionals and the inclusion of best practices.
• Analyzing the existing market need for privacy products and services and identifying ISACA’s position in the market.
• Identifying and prioritizing the gaps that can be uniquely filled by ISACA frameworks, knowledge products, education, and services.
• Identifying areas where ISACA can benefit from collaborative development activities, partnerships or other relationships and recommend third parties for consideration.

Work will be done primarily by virtual meetings and email.

Volunteer Criteria:

• Current position that has responsibility for privacy. Privacy expertise and industry representation are preferred over geographic diversity.
• Availability to attend hour-long virtual meetings every quarter.
• Understanding the privacy market including certifications and sources of knowledge currently available for privacy professionals.
• Knowledge of ISACA frameworks, products, certifications and services.
• Extensive knowledge of privacy laws and regulations such as GDPR, CPRA, PIPL, etc.
• ISACA membership preferred but not required.

Volunteer Benefits: 

• Up to 20 CPE credits (max. 20 annually) in the area of Working on ISACA Boards/Committees/Working Groups upon successful completion of the term.

The application may close early based on the response rate. Not all who apply will be selected based on needed volunteer representation.
