Description:

ISACA is partnering with the UK Cyber Security Council on an Audit and Assurance initiative. As a partner, ISACA is serving as one of the awarding bodies for the Council’s Audit and Assurance Professional Titles. Please see more about the Council’s professional titles and the path to becoming registered  at: The Council's Route to Chartership (ukcybersecuritycouncil.org.uk)

The Audit and Assurance initiative, one of several specialisms that the Council has undertaken, has the objective of introducing a universally recognized professional standard that supports practitioners in being certified at either Associate, Principal or Chartered levels. During the pilot phase of this initiative, ISACA has a unique opportunity to invite members of the ISACA community to apply for these professional titles.

Anticipated Outcomes/Timeline:
Selected volunteers will participate in an assessment process to obtain a UK Cyber Security Council Professional Title (Associate, Principal, or Chartered). The assessment process consists of:

  • Completing an application about career history and experience due 19 May.
    • Principal Title and Chartered Title applications require a written summary of work experience (case study).
  • Participating in a virtual interview with UK Council approved assessors about an applicant's work history, and knowledge of audit and cybersecurity. Interview lengths vary based on title:
    • Associate Title = 30 minutes
    • Principal Title = 60 minutes
    • Chartered Title = 120 minutes
  • Interviews are anticipated to be scheduled 22 May-16 June

Volunteer Criteria (required):

  • Knowledge and experience of audit and cyber security commensurate with current career phase. For example, those applying at the associate level are not expected to have the same level of knowledge and experience as those applying at the chartered level.
  • CISA certification required for Principal Title and Chartered Title
    • No prerequite for Associate Title
  • Opportunity only open to those working in the UK

Preferred:

  • ISACA Cyber Audit Certificate holders and ISACA IT Audit Fundamental Certificate holders encouraged to apply at the Associate title level; however, all will be considered.
  • ISACA membership preferred

All welcome to apply; however, selection is limited to 10 associate title; 10 principal title; 10 chartered title.

Volunteer Benefits:

  • Through the pilot phase, being awarded a professional title of Associate, Principal or Chartered at no cost.
