Description:

Cybersecurity Analyst item writers will develop multiple choice questions that will appear on future Cybersecurity Analyst exams. You will be given an assignment by the Item Development team to write items that map to specific knowledge areas from the new Cybersecurity Analyst exam content outline. Items should reflect the knowledge and experience of someone with 2-3 years in a technical cybersecurity role, such as a security analyst. Exam items should follow ISACA item writing guidelines. ISACA will provide item writing training; writers must complete the training before receiving writing assignments. The staff facilitator will contact eligible writers closer to the start of the writing campaign. Writers will be compensated for accepted items and will receive two (2) CPEs for each accepted item.


Anticipated Outcomes:

Cybersecurity Analyst item writers will submit quality items for consideration in future exams. Items should be relevant to the Cybersecurity Analyst exam candidate and suitable for a global audience. Submitted items cannot have been previously submitted for any ISACA exams or lifted from any publications.

 

Volunteer Criteria:

  • Fluency in English (written, verbal skills)
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in cybersecurity analysis including content areas such as technology essentials, cybersecurity principles and risk, incident detection and response, and securing assets
  • Understanding of the Cybersecurity Analyst exam content outline (see link above)
  • Knowledge of the required roles, responsibilities and knowledge base of a cybersecurity analyst

Volunteers will be required to acknowledge ISACA’s item writer agreement before accessing our item writing platform.


Volunteer Benefits:

Item writers will receive a $50 USD stipend and 2 CPE hours applied to an ISACA certification(s) per accepted item by the Cybersecurity Analyst Certification Working Group.
