Description:

ISACA is seeking volunteers to participate in a closed beta for the new Advanced in AI Security Management (AAISM) certification that’s in development. Selected volunteers will be one of the first to experience the program at a discounted rate and have the opportunity to provide feedback as ISACA finalizes this new certification. 

Please note: eligible applicants will be approved on a rolling basis, and space is limited; review the timeline below for further details. We anticipate a very high volume of applicants and not everyone who applies will be selected. Do not delay in applying. Selected volunteers will be required to purchase the AAISM Certification exam for US $399. If you are unable to purchase the exam, please refrain from applying. 

 

Timeline (please see Anticipated Outcomes for more detailed instructions): 

  • Eligible applicants will be approved between 2 June and 16 June, or until all spots are filled.
  • Exam Preparation:
    • Upon approval, volunteers will receive a link to purchase the AAISM Certification Exam for US $399. This is required for participation.
      • Volunteers may also purchase the AAISM Certification Questions, Answers, and Explanations Database for an additional US $199. This is not required to participate in the beta period.
    • After purchasing the exam, volunteers will receive a voucher to redeem the AAISM Certification Review Manual eBook free of charge.
      • The print version of the AAISM Certification Review Manual will not be available during the beta.
    • After receiving access to the exam prep material, volunteers should begin studying and preparing to sit for the AAISM Certification exam.
  • AAISM Certification Exam:
    • Volunteers will take the certification exam anytime between 7 July and 21 July.
      • The exam will be self-scheduled through ISACA’s exam administrator, PSI.
      • Please schedule your exam as soon as possible. 
      • The exam must be completed by 21 July. 

Note: The exam will only be available during this two-week period. If you are unable to sit for the exam during this time, please refrain from applying. You will not be eligible for a refund if you are absent for your exam. 

 

Anticipated outcomes:  

Beta participants will play a critical role in shaping the final pieces of the AAISM Certification. Participants are expected to work through the exam prep materials and sit for the certification exam by 21 July 2025.  

  • Participants that have been accepted into the beta must purchase the AAISM Certification Exam for US $399. A link to the exam page will be provided in a separate email after approval
  • After purchasing the exam, individuals will receive an email with a voucher code for the AAISM Review Manual. 
  • If participants would like additional exam prep, they will be able to purchase an AAISM Certification Questions, Answers, and Explanations Database (QAE) for an additional $199Purchase of this product is not required to participate in the beta. 
  • Participants should start preparing for the certification exam after obtaining exam prep material.
  • The certification exam will be open between 7 July and 21 July. Volunteers must complete the certification exam by 21 July
    • Test results will not be delivered until the AAISM certification program officially launches in September 2025.
    • Participants who hold an active CISM or CISSP certification and pass the exam will become certified in AAISM after submitting their application.
  • Participants will receive a survey via email and must complete it to provide feedback to ISACA after they have completed the certification exam.
  • Selected participants may be asked to complete a 1:1 virtual interview with ISACA staff about their experience.
  • Participants will only have one exam attempt.
  • Participants will have 150 minutes to complete the exam. 
  • The beta exam will not be offered at testing centers, the exam will be remote proctored only.

Volunteer Criteria:

  • ISACA Membership is not required.
  • Participants must hold either a CISM or CISSP credential.
  • Participants must be active in an IT Security Management or similar role.
  • Approved volunteers must purchase the beta exam for US $399.
  • Products are only available in English; volunteers must be comfortable reading, learning, and taking the exam in English.
  • Volunteers must be available to start preparing for the AAISM exam upon receiving access to the exam prep material and sit for the certification exam no later than 21 July 2025.
  • Stable Internet connection is required. During the beta the AAISM exam will only be available through remote proctor. 

Volunteer Benefits: 

  • Early access to ISACAs newest certification and those who qualify will be fully recognized as an Advanced in AI Security Management certification holder (see anticipated outcomes above).
  • Approved volunteers receive the AAISM exam prep material at a discount through beta pricing.
  • Volunteers will have a direct impact on the finalization of the AAISM program.
  • Professional development and credibility amongst peers.
  • Exam passers will earn the official AAISM Certification digital badge.
  • All participants, regardless of whether they pass or fail the exam, will receive an AAISM Certification Beta Participant Digital Badge.
  • Successful exam passers will earn 2 CPE in the category of Contributions to the Profession (maximum 20 CPE in this category annually).
  • Select volunteers may also earn an additional 1 CPE in the category of Contributions to the Profession (maximum 20 CPE in this category annually) for completing a 1:1 interview with ISACA staff.
