Description:

ISACA Evangelists are ISACA advocates, presenters and media spokespersons who speak knowledgeably and powerfully on behalf of ISACA. They represent every region across the globe and will act as ISACA brand ambassadors and thought leaders.

ISACA Evangelists are key brand ambassadors, helping to position ISACA as a thought leader in the industry and to promote ISACA’s body of knowledge. Optional activities include writing articles for ISACA’s blog and third-party media outlets, contributing to ISACA social media posts, and providing insights into key trends relevant for ISACA content and media engagement.

What ISACA Will Provide:

  • Regular content to help equip ISACA evangelists with the most up-to-date ISACA messaging, news and information (e.g., monthly email updates, sample social posts you can share, etc.)
  • A continuously updated Resource Library, including messaging, fact sheets, slides and interview guidance.
  • Speaking and/or media opportunities as they become available.

Expectations of Evangelists:

  • The time commitment is approximately 1-2 hours/month of tasks from ISACA (e.g., quarterly briefings, monthly emails, and media opportunities), plus any proactive opportunities the Evangelist identifies.
  • Evangelists will proactively identify opportunities to share ISACA information.
  • Evangelists will inform the ISACA Communications Team in advance of any speaking/media engagements taking place; ISACA will provide guidance as needed.
  • If Evangelists are participating in presentations/media opportunities on politically charged or controversial topics, they will not use their ISACA Evangelist titles and will not speak on behalf of ISACA.
  • If Evangelists have slides they are willing to share with other ISACA presenters, they will provide those to the ISACA Communications Team, who will make them available in the Resource Library shared with Evangelists.
  • Evangelists will respond within 24 hours to accept or decline opportunities from ISACA.

Anticipated Outcomes:

ISACA Evangelists will leverage their ISACA expertise and enthusiasm by serving as a brand ambassador through speaking opportunities, media interviews, social media conversations and more, all of which help ISACA extend its global reach and elevates the Evangelist as an industry thought leader. This may include:

  • Accepting speaking opportunities found by ISACA (industry events or ISACA chapter events).
  • Proactively pursuing speaking opportunities and mentioning ISACA and applicable ISACA products, content, resources within presentations.
  • Writing comments in response to current events that can be rapidly pitched to media, for the purpose of using these in timely articles.
  • Speaking with journalists over phone interviews in response to queries, with the aim for their quotes and/or ISACA data and messaging to be used in published pieces.
  • Writing bylined articles to be placed in third-party media outlets.
  • Writing ISACA Now blog posts.
  • Contributing quotes and/or other expert insights for ISACA social media posts.
  • Providing expert insights that will be used in the development of key messaging document, media pitches, and/or other ISACA content.
  • Collaborating with other ISACA or industry experts on media opportunities as needed.

Not all volunteers will be contacted for every media inquiry; expertise and type of media outlet and query will be considered by ISACA staff when connecting with volunteers about opportunities.
