About Our ISACA Chapter

We are the London Chapter of ISACA (formerly the Information Systems Audit and Control Association), an international body that has been in existence since 1969. ISACA London Chapter, the first in the UK, was established in 1981. Other UK Chapters include Northern England, Central England, Winchester, Scotland, and the Ireland Chapter (which covers both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland). The London Chapter, the largest chapter in the world, has over 5,000 members who come from a wide cross-section of business including the accountancy and information systems professions, central and local government, the banking, manufacturing and service sectors and academia.

ISACA chapters are created on the basis of regulations in their respective countries, for example, based on whether they are an association, society, private limited company, or other basis under  Attorney General Office guidance. In the case of the London Chapter, it was created as an association and then in November 2004, it was incorporated as a private company limited by guarantee. This means it is a non-profit company, compared to a private limited company limited by shares which is for profit.

Vision

The London Chapter Vision for 2023-2024 is: "Supporting London's global leadership in the digital economy by enhancing professional education and development in Governance, Risk, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Privacy, and Assurance”.

Mission

The London Chapter's mission for 2023-2024, endorsed by the Board is to provide value to its members by focusing on: "Promoting Chapter benefits with a focus on educating and helping expand the knowledge and skills of members in the inter-related fields of auditing, quality assurance, security, cyber and IT Governance; Encouraging a free exchange of IT Governance, Quality Assurance, and Information Security techniques, approaches and problem-solving by members; Continually improving communications to keep members abreast of current events in the IT Governance, quality assurance, and security fields that can benefit them and their employers.

Message From the President

Dear ISACA London Chapter Members,
We are happy to be a big community as the largest chapter in the world with over 5,000 members across London. Our chapter, a cornerstone of the global ISACA community, has consistently demonstrated leadership, innovation, and a commitment to excellence in the fields of governance, risk management, cybersecurity, and IT audit.
Reflecting on our achievements, I am immensely proud of how our chapter has adapted and thrived despite the challenges presented by the rapidly changing technological landscape. Our collective resilience, coupled with a shared vision for the future, has enabled us to provide valuable resources, insightful events, and robust networking opportunities for our members.
As we look forward, my primary goal is to build on this strong foundation and further enhance the value that our chapter brings to each of you. Here are a few key initiatives we focus:
  1. Educational Excellence: We will continue to offer cutting-edge training and certification programs that empower our members with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in their careers. Look out for new webinars, workshops, and study groups tailored to both seasoned professionals and those new to the field.
  2. Community Engagement: Strengthening our community ties remains a priority. We aim to foster a more inclusive and supportive environment where every member feels valued. Through mentorship programs, member spotlights, and increased social events, we will ensure that our chapter remains a vibrant and welcoming community.
  3. Innovative Collaborations: Partnering with industry leaders, academic institutions, and other professional organizations will allow us to bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to our members. These collaborations will enhance our events and provide unique opportunities for professional growth and development.
  4. Advocacy and Thought Leadership: As a chapter, we will continue to be a voice for our profession, advocating for best practices and ethical standards in governance, risk management, and cybersecurity. We will also highlight the achievements and insights of our members, positioning our chapter as a thought leader within the industry.
  5. Sustainability and Growth: Ensuring the long-term sustainability of our chapter is critical. We will focus on strategic planning and resource management to maintain our financial health and support our initiatives. Additionally, growing our membership base will be key to expanding our reach and impact.
I encourage each of you to get involved, whether by attending events, volunteering, or contributing ideas. Your active participation is what makes our chapter dynamic and successful. Together, we can create a supportive, innovative, and forward-thinking community that not only meets the current needs of our members but also anticipates and addresses the challenges of the future.
Thank you for your continued dedication and support. I am excited to work alongside such a talented and passionate group of professionals. Let’s continue to grow, learn, and achieve more!
Warmest regards,
Hayriye Cinar
