1. How can I renew my certification?

To renew your certification requires earning and reporting CPE hours annually and over a fixed 3-year cycle period* and paying an annual certification maintenance fee.

Our CPE reporting system has recently been enhanced and certified individuals are now able to report CPE as they are earned. Take a quick tour

  3. Scroll down to section Certification Status.

  7. Select Save and Add More if you have another CPE activity to add.

*Certifications in non-practicing status are not required to report CPE until returning to active.

3. How do I add (report) CPE hours?

You can report your CPE individually as you earn them or in a lump sum total. To enter your CPE hours:

  1. Click on MyCertifications.
  2. Click on Report CPE or Manage My CPE button.
  3. Scroll down and select Add CPE button.

  6. You will need to enter the number of CPE earned in this activity for each ISACA certification to which it applies.
  7. Select Save to save your changes.

If you have more than one activity to report, Select Save and Add More to add additional activities.

4. I see unapplied CPE in my record. Do unapplied CPE require any action on my part? Will these be automatically added to my CPE for the year?

Unapplied CPE was auto-loaded by ISACA based CPE-related activity associated with your account. You MUST APPLY these CPE records in order for them to be credited toward your certification CPE totals. Note that the maximum CPE amount, if present, is the maximum that can be applied to each certification for which it applies.

To apply unapplied CPE:

  1. Select the edit icon adjacent to the CPE record.
  2. Enter in the number of CPE in the certification box which the activity applies. If you have more than one certification, you will need to enter the CPE number in each certification box to which the activity applies.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Once saved, a detailed CPE record will be created for each certification that was assigned CPE hours, and will now be reflected in your CPE totals.

5. Can I edit a CPE activity?

Yes, in some cases. CPE associated with prior renewal periods are locked and cannot be changed. Otherwise you may make changes to CPE records using the edit icon next to the CPE record you wish to edit.

6. My CPE activity shows a locked status. What does this mean?

Once you have reported the required minimum CPE for applicable annual and three-year cycles, your certification through year and all related CPE records are locked from any further editing.

7. I need to edit or delete a locked CPE record. How can I do this?

You will need to contact certification@isaca.org for assistance.

8. How will I know my renewal is completed?

You can get a bird’s eye view of your certification status on your myCertifications web page located under the My ISACA tab.

9. I have renewed my certification for the year, but still have additional CPE that I have not yet reported. Can I still add these hours?

Yes, if they fall within the current three-year cycle years.

10. I have entered incorrect information for a CPE activity. How can I correct this?

This can be corrected in one of two ways:

  1. Go to the CPE Detail section, and delete that particular activity and then re-enter the activity as a new CPE. (See add CPE.)
  2. Go to the CPE Detail section, locate the CPE activity you wish to correct, click on the edit icon, make your corrections and then click on save.

11. My certification shows revoked status. Who can I contact?

Please contact certification@isaca.org. for further information and assistance.

12. My certification is in nonpracticing status. How can I report my CPE?

While in nonpracticing status, CPE are not required. If you are returning to an active status, follow the appropriate link for additional information on what is needed to return to active status and the appropriate forms. Visit:

13. I do not see my certifications in my profile. What can I do?

Please contact certification@isaca.org. Please include your certification certificate number or member ID number and full name with your inquiry

14. Where can I find the details of the CPE which I entered?

Summary totals of CPE hours are presented within the certification summary section of the Manage My CPE page. Individual CPE records are located at the bottom of the Manage My CPE page under CPE Detail.

CPE Hour Summary:
Hours in the CPE summary table are listed by qualifying activity. Clicking on the “+” mark adjacent to a year will display the hours and activities entered for that particular reporting year. Note that some qualifying activities have annual limits to the number of CPE hours which you can claim. These limits are applied in your CPE Hours Summary table and listed under the column titled “Allowed.”

CPE Detail:
Scroll down to the bottom of Manage My CPE page to the CPE Detail section. Each individual CPE record is listed, which depending on its status, can be edited or deleted. Each record pertains to a single certification type, which means you could have multiple records for a single CPE activity if the hours were applied to multiple certifications. This is important to recognize in the event you need to edit a CPE activity that may have multiple entries in the table.
