Anne Leavy-Kimmins

Anne Leavy-Kimmins has over 20 years in the financial services industry with expertise in adult learning, workforce development, information security, cybersecurity, risk management, audit, and business continuity. A key theme in Anne’s career is helping others build their careers through experiential learning and focus on individual strengths and interests. Anne is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) in good standing for 13 years.

She is currently the Director of the Cyber NYC Talent Program – Applied Learning Initiative, a suite of educational programs offered and operated across major research universities in New York City in collaboration with industry cyber experts to develop a cybersecurity talent pipeline through experience-based and industry-informed methods.

Anne has been volunteering for ISACA’s New York Metro Chapter’s membership meeting committee since early 2019. She has helped with onsite registration at ISACA events in addition to keeping roster management and meeting minutes, and writing event articles. One of Anne’s goals is to pursue ISACA’s CISA certification in the near future.

My name is Ashley Mangar and I am a recent graduate from Baruch College with a bachelor's degree in Information Risk Management and Cybersecurity. During my time at Baruch College, I was the president of the ISACA Cybersecurity Club for Spring 2019. I am currently working at Anchin Block and Anchin LLP as an Applications Support Administrator as well as a mentor for the current President of the Cybersecurity Club and an ISACA volunteer for the Young Professionals Committee and the Certification Committee Class Leader Trainer. Currently, I am looking to pursue a career in IT Audit and/or Cybersecurity.

Ms. Ashley Mangar has been a dedicated individual who has started her volunteer with the certification committee since July 2019 as the class leader to handle all class administration and operation logistic to assure that all classes are running smoothly.

Upen Patel is an Information Risk professional who guides the risk management team in the development of strategic program elements including providing input to IRM risk prioritization the enforcement and interpretation of MUFG Union Bank information risk policies and standards; Upen collaborates with subject matter experts to determine risk scoring methodology and communicate to our business partners potential impact from changes to information risk policy and provide education on information risk matters that involve legal or regulatory matters, acting as liaison for the multiple business sectors.

Upen has a MS in Information Assurance from Pace University, NY, MS In Environment Engineering from NYU Polytechnic Institute, and BS in Geology from York College (CUNY). He is also certified in CISA, CISM, CRISC, CISSP, and CCSP.

Upen is closely associated with a ISACA New York Metropolitan Chapter for the past 10 years, he volunteers at ISACA events year around as his expertise aids in his passion to give back to the community. Upen also appreciates the opportunity the Chapter provides to earn CPE. As working as a volunteer, Upen enjoys working directly with the Board, and it him to improve his leadership skills and prepares him for a planned future run to be elected to the Board. Upen noted how he recently, volunteered for 2-day Data Privacy class which was held by ISACA, and learned up close all of the details needed to make a class a success. Right down to making sure the afternoon coffee was on time, since the students were looking forward to refreshments during the break. As a volunteer, you also get to interact with of everyone which helps for networking, getting to know other professionals in your field, and other soft skills. It is amazing the feelings of accomplishment and pride you get when you volunteer, and know you are helping make a difference.

Chun Ri: I have been in the Information Technology field for over 20 years, with the last 10 years focusing on infrastructure management and security. My IT career began as an entrepreneur that provided computer and networking services. My more recent work experiences include managing a team of system engineers, working closely with information security professionals, and help run a cybersecurity program. I have also accumulated many technical certifications throughout my career, and continue to do so. I enjoy helping others, sharing knowledge, learning from people, and most of all, cherishing the moments with my family and friends.

I joined ISACA and the NY Metro Chapter as a volunteer. I have participated in several events, including the annual Gala, and enjoy working at the front line. I help set up the event tables, meet and greet all members and visitors, provide guidance and direction when needed, check in with the vendors, and ensure all information collected is complete and organized. When asked, I also provide mentoring and coaching to members and visitors.

Mayank Nagpal is an aspiring professional (or more commonly known as an emerging professional) in the field of Security and Audit. He has been in the field of Technology Talent Acquisition for more than ten years. He currently leads a team of recruiters engaged in filling niche technology roles. After coming in contact with security and risk professionals through his job, and having become intrigued about the field of cybersecurity, risk and audit, he decided to move into this direction.Guided by a few friends and after some research, he embarked on this journey by becoming a member of ISACA and seeking the guidance of its long-term members. He passed the CISA and Security+ exams recently and is currently preparing for further certifications. He is captivated by the subjects and wishes to become a full-time member of this industry.During this process, he decided to become more closely involved with the NY Metropolitan chapter. His first experience was as a class volunteer for Mr Jay Ranade’s CISA class as a member of the Certification committee. In 2019 he has been an integral part of a very dedicated and inspiring volunteer team as a member of the Membership Committee.

He regards his volunteer experience with ISACA no different from any other position of responsibility he currently holds or has held in the past. The events organized have ranged in subject and content and have attracted a very diverse set of professionals in the industry. He has gained access to the knowledge and experience of some of these professionals who continue to inspire him to keep moving towards his goals of eventually making the career switch that he is preparing for.

Mr. Lance Flocco has been involved with the New York Metropolitan Chapter for over six years. He became a volunteer for the Certification Committee after achieving our Chapter’s award for the highest CISA Exam score in December 2013.

Lance is also a past recipient of the New York Metropolitan Chapter’s Volunteer of the Year Award and a former member of our Board of Directors. Lance currently serves as Co-Chairperson of the Certification Committee.

George Buckley worked as a CISO/Head of Information Security for two major European banks for over 20 years, with a specialty in Access and Identity Management. After a brief consulting role as a risk management SME, he is now working as an Information Risk Manager at a major Japanese bank. He holds CISM and CISSP certifications as well as an MBA.

Reena Panesar is an Information Risk and Cybersecurity Professional with over 10 years of Information Technology and Financial Management experience. She has extensive knowledge in Internal Controls, Cyber Security policies and Risk Management framework lifecycle for Information Systems and Platform Information Technology systems. She has a professional certification in CISA.

Reena Panesar is a graduate from West Chester University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a graduate from Pace University with a Master of Science in Financial Management. Reena has volunteered for the ISACA NY Metropolitan Chapter membership meetings and outings, as well as the 2018 Gala.

Shane has been an active member of the ISACA NY Metro Chapter since 2015 and has been a dependable volunteer for the Cybersecurity outreach efforts since 2018. In addition to contributing to the CSX and Cybersecurity Education portion of the Chapter’s monthly newsletters, Shane has also served as an assistant instructor for the CSX-F Training conducted for ISACA members preparing for the Cybersecurity Fundamentals Certificate exam.

Shane is a Technology Audit and Security Manager in the Internal Audit and Financial Advisory solution at Protiviti’s New York Metro office. He has about five years of experience leading IT Audits, Risk Assessments, Security Assessments, and Regulatory Compliance at several clients of varying sizes, including multiple Fortune 500 companies. A majority of Shane’s focus has been on clients within the financial services industry, including insurance firms, holding companies, asset management firms, and banks (both foreign and domestic).

Shane obtained his Bachelor and Master of Engineering degrees from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. He has also earned the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification and is currently pursuing additional certifications. Outside of work, Shane enjoys serving at the Miracle League of Northampton County, PA to create positive experiences for children with disabilities through baseball. He also enjoys attending any sporting event and spending quality time with family and friends.

David Frost

David Frost is a recognized expert in all aspects of Computer Security, Risk, Technical Audit and Process Improvement. At Citicorp, he spent 33 years in different roles specializing in technology solutions for business control issues (CISA Certified), operations redesign, and financial and operational control integrity. Developed and implemented corporate wide risk based audit techniques, implemented audit automation techniques and introduced self audit procedures in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.

During his last 5 years at Citicorp, David was on the Senior Management Team for the Depositary Receipts Business responsible for Risk, Compliance and Vendor Management areas. David also spent 15 years within the NewYork Chapter of ISACA reaching the level of President for two consecutive years. David was also a Senior training consultant for an International Audit Training Organization experienced in course design, implementation, with broad seminar and conference exposure. He has achieved a BBA, Economics/Accounting from C.U.N.Y. Baruch Campus and was awarded the Certified Information Systems Auditor designation.

Jay Rofsky

Jay Rofsky is a Senior Consultant within the Internal Audit & Financial Advisory practice for Protiviti. Jay began his IT audit career with PwC where he spent over two years within the financial services practice. He brings a hard working, positive attitude to any given situation. He attended Rutgers University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in both Accounting and Finance. He is currently studying for the CISA exam and looks forward to earning many more certifications in the years to come.

Alyssa Santolo

Alissa began her career with Protiviti in September 2019 in the Foundations program. Since joining the company she has had projected experience in Risk and Compliance and Internal Audit. As a Consultant, she has taken on roles as an Anti Money Laundering Analyst, SOX Tester, performed several Audits and assessed bank exposure to Fraud Risks.

Additionally she has worked with her management teams to create onboarding, training and procedure documentation for her team. Before coming to Protiviti she spent one year working as a Finance intern at the American Ballet theatre. Here she was tasked with accounting projects such as Cash Flows and Bank Reconciliations as well as took notes and executed meeting minutes for all major committee meetings the finance team was a part of.
