Overview

The Academic Relations Committee is dedicated to building strong relationships between ISACA and the local academic community, cultivating the next generation of cybersecurity and audit leaders.

We lead the planning and delivery of:

  • Partnerships with leading academic institutions including NYU Tandon, Columbia, and Pace University, supporting six active student groups on campus.
  • The annual Student Cybersecurity Case Study Competition, engaging 160+ students across 30+ teams in solving real-world industry challenges.
  • Mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities that connect students with industry professionals.
  • Curriculum guidance to help ensure that current trends and topics in cybersecurity, audit, and technology are reflected in academic programs.

Our mission is to foster strong academic partnerships, support student development, and strengthen the profession by equipping the next generation of professionals with the knowledge and skills they need in today's dynamic digital environment.

Strategic Objectives

  • Build Student Communities: Develop vibrant ISACA Student Groups on campus that provide peer support, professional networking, and access to industry expertise.
  • Advance Professional Development: Offer students hands-on learning experiences, certification pathways, and career guidance to accelerate their entry into the cybersecurity field.
  • Promote Academic Excellence: Collaborate with faculty and academic advocates to ensure curricula align with current industry practices and emerging technologies.
  • Foster Industry-Academic Partnerships: Strengthen relationships between local universities and ISACA professionals to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice.
