We held our Virtual Annual Gala and Wasserman Award Recognition on June 24th. John C. Maxwell, leadership expert and NYT #1 Bestseller, encouraged the audience to embrace uncertainty to become the leaders that you want to be at work or professional organizations such as ISACA. John spoke about his book “LeaderShift: 11 Essential Changes Every Leader Must Face” and shared some lessons and his learnings over the years. As we close out the last event for the month, we reflect on Lesson #1 Everything Worthwhile is Uphill. Our committee couldn’t agree more with John as we reflect on our activities during this extraordinary year.
The second half of the event celebrated Brian C. Barnier, 2021 Wasserman Award recipient. Brian started his presentation by posing a question to the audience – “How curious are you?”. He went on to share some formative experiences in his life that sparked his interest in Design Thinking and the application of it to cybersecurity. You can read more about Brian’s background on our site here.
Know someone interested in becoming an ISACA member? ISACA is offering half-price membership dues to those who join ISACA through 31 July. Encourage others to join and take advantage of this offer while it lasts.
