Chapter events

On Tuesday, June 30th the ISACA New York Metropolitan Chapter held it’s Annual Virtual General Meeting.  The Covid-19 restrictions didn’t stop our virtual celebrations of the incoming Board members, the Wasserman Award Winner, and volunteer awards.  Along with the celebrations, chapter updates for 2019-2020 were provided and the event closed with a fun raffle prize giveaway to some lucky winners!

The event moderator was our very own ISACA New York Metropolitan Chapter president, Karen Alexander.   She introduced the keynote speaker, David Samuelson who is the ISACA Global president & CEO.  David’s presentation was not only enlightening, but also very helpful on managing work challenges faced with Covid-19 and more.

The Wasserman Award winner Medha Bhalodkar, Chief Information Security Officer & Enterprise IT Risk Officer at Columbia University in the City of New York addressed all the attendees with heartwarming stories of her career journey and also provided some valuable information on the IT Risk Management Framework, differences with managing risks across industries and much more.  Medha’s hard work and determination to get to where she is today is not only impressive but inspirational to all of us moving up in our career path.  Congratulations Medha, we are very excited for you!

Congratulations to all those who received chapter & volunteer awards, the new 2020-2021 Chapter Board members, and a special thanks to our sponsors for dinner credits and raffles!

We look forward to continuing the celebrations, and more events coming throughout the remainder of the year.
