ISACA Celebrates Volunteer Contributions During ISACA Volunteer Appreciation Week

Dear Volunteers,

As we close out ISACA® Volunteer Appreciation Week, I want to express my appreciation for all the time and effort our nearly 1,500 global volunteers, 3,000 chapter leaders, and 2,800+ CommunITy Day participants committed to ISACA last year. We are fortunate to have an outstanding pool of highly skilled volunteers whose dedication has been invaluable. As Chair of the Board of Directors and a longtime ISACA chapter and global volunteer myself, I can truly appreciate all the extra time contributed to advance our organization and our professional community and see the lasting impacts that you have made as an important part of our volunteer program.

Have you seen our volunteer videos on social media this week featuring the different contributions ISACA volunteers have made? If not, please take a minute to watch this highlights video. I am confident you will be just as impressed with your efforts as I am and eager to get more involved.

I think Melissa Swartz, Senior Manager Volunteer Engagement, said it best in her ISACA Now blog that kicked off ISACA Volunteer Appreciation Week, “ISACA is not just a professional association – it is a people association.” ISACA relies on people like you to get involved and continue to help advance our profession and help each other grow.  It is our global volunteers that have allowed ISACA to grow and provide significant value to the profession over the last 50 years and will drive success for the next 50 years.

This is also why I was inspired to dedicate the 2020 ISACA Chair’s Award to all of our members and volunteers who have demonstrated outstanding thought and industry leadership, innovation and, more recently, resilience and focus in times of rapid transformational change in both the industry we serve and the association itself. Learn more about this and the rest of our outstanding 2020 ISACA Award recipients.

These days we may not be able to meet in person, but we are still all supporting one another in many ways virtually. Please join our conversations in our Engage online communities, and keep checking the open volunteer opportunities for new ways to participate.

I hope that you continue to be an advocate for ISACA and valuable addition to our volunteer team. On behalf of the ISACA leadership, thank you for all you do for ISACA!

Sincerely,

Brennan P. Baybeck, CISA, CISM, CRISC
Chair, ISACA Board of Directors

P.S. Learn more about becoming an author, speaker, or exam item writer here. There are lots of ways to get involved!
