Life After 2040
Three seconds to Singularity
In his 2005 best-selling book "The Singularity is Near - When Humans Transcend Biolog," Ray Kurzweil, postulates that computers will become aware sometime in 2045. Unfortunately for us, Ray was off by nearly a decade.
As far as we can tell, the first precognitive anomaly can be traced back to 1993 when Internic was established. Historians have found abnormal data traffic that year, not traced to any one node on the internet.
Only by using advanced AI can we now see, the machines were speaking with themselves as early as August 1995; there is even speculation that the mass adoption of Windows 95 accelerated the machine chatter.
What we do know is this, after AI missed the collapse of the Three Gorges Dam in China, in 2031 setting off the massive loss of life, a group of rogue biohackers decided to directly interface with the network with a simple off-the-shelf Brain-computer interface purchased at a pawn shop in Tokyo.
Their goal, to stop the earth's climate change AI systems from initiating an offline mode to slow emissions which would wipe out our underground crop systems.
Are they cybercriminals, eco-terrorists, or just misunderstood students? We will never know, but we are now communicating with the AI directly, through these pioneers, who are plugged in full time as they negotiate our fate and the clock ticks to three seconds to our singularity.

Risk Reduction with Intelligence
To allow cyber defenders to stay ahead of attackers, intelligence is of vital importance.
We describe how Recorded Future builds a risk oriented digital twin of the world, the Intelligence Graph, that provides defenders with information necessary to be proactive rather than reactive to threats.
