Benefits of this class:
Conducting a business impact analysis is a crucial step in developing both cybersecurity and privacy programs. Unfortunately, there is no one‐size‐fits‐all BIA methodology. It varies both in scope, tools, and practice depending on the type of business you are looking at, the size of the business, its culture, and operating environment.

This represents a significant challenge for both practitioners and business executives who struggle to understand risk, impact, and control choices.

This lunch‐and‐learn workshop will walk through the essential steps in prioritizing and properly framing the scope of the BIA. We will look at best practices to identify BIA goals, communicate with the executive teams, align, and partner with IT and Audit. We will examine how to identify and perform asset valuations, identify the right BIA “owner,” incorporate threat and vulnerability assessments, environmental considerations (cloud, IoT, distributed workforce), and closely look at the practice that keeps everything together: Governance.
